The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has significantly increased its visa processing capacity for Pakistani nationals, now handling around 500 visa applications per day. This update was shared by UAE Ambassador Salem M. Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi during his meeting with Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad.
The ambassador praised the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the UAE, highlighting the strong role played by Pakistani professionals in the Emirates. He added that both countries are expanding cooperation in trade, investment, logistics, technology, agriculture, ports, and financial services.

Recently, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry informed a Senate committee that the UAE had temporarily restricted visas to diplomatic and blue passport holders. This move was linked to concerns regarding passport misuse and human trafficking networks. Pakistan is now working to strengthen immigration controls and improve verification processes.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb appreciated the UAE’s improved visa facilitation measures, stating that easier mobility will boost private-sector activity and long-term investment between the two nations. He also briefed the ambassador on Pakistan’s improving economic indicators, including rising remittances, stable reserves, lower inflation, and a stronger currency trend.
